Tobacco consumption is a social problem that affects the population on a worldwide level. But active smoking is not the only dangerous problem: secondhand smoke is a serious health problem as well.
This project aims to sensitize smokers and non-smokers to the dangers and risks of secondhand smoke on the university campus through the use of persuasive technology.
In the ongoing preparation phase of the project, we are investigating persuasion approaches in order to develop a behavior change campaign to decrease the habit of smoking at and in front of the main entrances of the buildings. With less smoking on balconies and at building entrances, non-smokers will be exposed to significantly less secondhand smoke on the university campus.
